Next MW2 map pack due June 3rd

Even with the losses at Infinity Ward, they've still managed to put out another set of map. It'll be the same deal as before, 1200 MS points for 5 maps (3 new, 2 old). I know for some that's too much but it should be good. Maybe they'll throw in a double xp weekend as well. One can only hope...

USB mass storage and External Hard Drives

It was reported on tomshardware.com and other sites that the next dashboard update will contain software to permit up to 32GB of USB storage for the 360. It'll have to be in the form of two 16GB thumb drives or possibly external hard drives. If you use an external hard drive you will be limited to just 16GB per hard drive so I feel the thumb drive is the way to go.

Additionally, Microsoft has announced that the 250GB hard drive will be sold as a stand alone drive now. After all those months of saying they will only release it for special combo packs. Anyway, it'll replace the 120GB hard drive at the $129.99 price point and the 120GB drive will be phased out.

Modern Warfare 2 Double XP weekend

According to an article posted on Joystiq.com, XBox live users will be treated to a double xp weekend starting April 2nd and going throug April 5th. This is the weekend directly after the "Stimulus Package" Map Pack drops on March 30th.

Modern Warare 2 Mapathy DLC

It's official! The COD MW2 first DLC has been announced on Tom's Hardware that it'll be avaialable on March 30th to the xbox community. Apparently, MS did something right and was able to obtain exclusive rights to first distro of the content. This mean xbox gets it before PC and PS3 players. Go Xbox!

Halo: Reach Beta

Also during X10, it was announced that the Halo reach Beta will be available to folks who purchased Halo 3: ODST. The beta will only be avaiable via the ODST game disk so if you don't have it you wan't be able to check out the beta. The date for the Reach Beta is May 3rd.

During the interviews, bungie alluded that this will be their last Halo title and that they are looking forward to the next big thing. It's up to opinion if the next big thing will be bigger than the entire Halo franchise. Leaves one to wonder what bungie has planned.

Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack

The folks over at joystiq have been enjoying the X10 put on by Microsoft. This is the event to showcase upcoming titles and DLC for the 360. During that time it was announced that the first installment of DLC for MW2 is coming this spring. Finally, some new maps headed our way!
